What makes the sBooks search engine different?

The search engine sBooks uses is unique because it combs through the material of each book and gives users a list of words or phrases to search for. These words or phrases are known as knodules, and are developed through a collection of disambiguated terms, or dterms, which differ depending on their context. Even more exciting, users can create their own glosses which are then added to that specific search for anyone viewing their overlay.

What does sBooks cost?

sBooks is free to use! Certain books may cost money, but there is no charge to use the site.

What does it mean to be part of a reading circle?

When you’re part of an sBooks reading circle you have unlimited access to all of the content that has been noted about that book publicly by members of the circle. You will also be able to add your own content to share with other members of the circle.

How can I create a reading circle?

Creating a community is done by clicking overlays within a book, then clicking the invite tab. Choose who you’d like to be in your reading circle for a certainbook, or tribe for a group of books, by using the web reader. These communities can be made up of Facebook friends, e-mail contacts or any group of people youchoose.

How exactly can I customize an sBook?

All you have to do to customize the font or style of an sBook is click Settings from within an sBook and choose your preference. If you’d like to highlight a certain passage for future use, click on the passage you wish to highlight and press the + icon that shows up on the top of the page.

How can I publish my own sBook?

Publishing is easy and free at sBooks. You are able to publish any material you’d like, as long as it is your literary property.
